Support me sailing around the world!
My name is Devi and I’m 15 years old. My life began in a very special place: on board of Sailing Yacht Alondra in Thailand. I spent the first four years of my life surrounded by endless horizons and the sound of the waves. It was a world of freedom and adventure, a life on the water that shaped who I am.
Being a sailor all my life, when I first heard about School at Sea, I knew this had to be the next big step in my life. It immediately took me back to those early years of sailing, discovering, and being independent. Sailing is in my blood, and the chance to cross the Atlantic Ocean twice with 35 other students in just six months is something I could only dream of – and now, it’s something I want to make happen.
School at Sea offers me the opportunity to challenge myself, expand my horizons, and learn about the world not just from books but from firsthand experience. But more than that, it’s a chance for me to grow, both as a person and as a global citizen. I want to develop the skills, responsibility, and resilience that this journey will give me.
Why should you support me? Not just to help me achieve my dream. But because I believe this experience will allow me to inspire others to follow their own dreams too. The world becomes a better place when we all dare to pursue our adventures.
Will you dream with me?
Thank you so much for your support!

Our Journey
HARLINGEN
Mid October 2025
We depart from the Netherlands and sail southwest. Sailing in the Channel during autumn is always a challenge. Depending on the weather and wind, the captain may decide to stop in France, England, or Spain to wait for better conditions.TENERIFE
The first real destination is Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands. Here, we’ll have an exchange with a local school and climb El Teide, the volcano that created the island.DOMINICA
Afterward, we’ll make our first crossing to Dominica. There, we’ll go on an expedition in the jungle to the Boiling Lake and spend a few days with the local community.CURAÇAO
After some island-hopping among various Leeward Islands, we’ll reach the ABC Islands and visit Curaçao.PANAMA
Next, we’ll sail even further west, to Guna Yala, also known as San Blas, an autonomous region in eastern Panama. Here, you’ll find paradise: white beaches, blue waters, coral reefs, and palm trees. A little further west in Panama, you’ll be dropped off to explore the country in a small group, embarking on our first independent journey!CUBA
After Panama, we’ll sail northward for the first time in months, beginning the journey home. In Cuba, you’ll disembark to explore this unique island nation with a group of fellow students during the second independent journey.BERMUDA
Next, we sail to Bermuda, where the contrasts with Cuba are striking.AZORES
After Bermuda, we’ll cross the Atlantic Ocean again and head to the Azores. In Faial, we’ll prepare for the final leg of sailing back to the Netherlands.NETHERLANDS (End of our journey)
Mid April 2026
